The 2009 Caloundra Cup results were astounding. The Pelican Motors Caloundra Cup was won by the horse ‘Fast Future’ whose jockey was Michael Cahill. The horse had a record win when she pipped Scattergun and Synonym by almost three lengths. This astounding win surprised the spectators and must have elated punters who bet upon Fast Future.

In another race Reggie, trained by Peter Moody, ran to a stunning win when the horse raced for the first time with blinkers based on the recommendation of the trainer. Jim Byrne, the jockey, had to change his tactic by making some quick moves which helped the horse to easily pip rivals Phase action and Deraismes. This was the second Caloundra Cup win for Reggie. The famous Australian Cricketer Simon O’Donnell and Terry Henderson are the syndicate who own Reggie.
